Approach
Relational + Psychodynamic + Brainspotting
We do this work together.
Therapy with me is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we listen with care and intention to every part of you. I believe healing happens in relationship, and the therapeutic relationship becomes a place where new experiences of understanding, safety, and connection can take place.
In our work together, we explore both the symptoms that bring you to therapy and the deeper patterns beneath them. This process often reveals the places where disconnection has taken root—within yourself, in your relationships, or in the ways you’ve learned to move through the world. As we slow down and listen carefully, space opens for healing, growth, and reconnection.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and emotionally focused. I integrate creativity and evidence-based practices, drawing on tools such as metaphor, bodily awareness, and deep listening to help people reconnect with themselves. When we slow down enough to truly listen, we often find parts of ourselves that have been waiting to be witnessed.
In trauma work, I believe healing involves both processing what happened and caring for the person in whom the trauma occurred. For single-event trauma or ongoing environmental stress, I often use bottom-up approaches such as Brainspotting and guided imagery. These methods can help access emotions stored in the body and support reconnection between mind, brain, and nervous system.

How We Can Work Together
Individual Therapy
Sometimes life begins to feel heavy in ways that are difficult to carry alone. Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, understand patterns, and work through experiences that may still be shaping your present life.
Couples Therapy
Couples can become stuck in cycles of disconnection, resentment, or misunderstanding. My approach helps couples better understand each other, communicate more openly, and rebuild emotional intimacy.
Process Group Therapy
In this weekly interpersonal process group, individuals explore relationship patterns in real time with others. Process Group offers a powerful opportunity to develop deeper self-awareness, honesty, and connection.

About Wesley
Hi, my name is Wesley Knight. I am a second-career therapist who draws on my background as both an artist and an academic, approaching therapy in a relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed manner. I enjoy working with individuals who feel like they have tried everything or have carried things on their own for a long time. I feel deeply energized by the work in session and based on my own experiences believe the therapeutic relationship is a place where healing and meaningful change are possible.
People come to therapy for many reasons, often after trying to carry things on their own for a long time. This was my experience as well. Eventually I found support in the therapeutic relationship — a space where my healing began. That experience continues to shape the way I think about therapy and how I show up in this work.
A few years later, I choose to enter the field of counseling and psychotherapy through a desire to help others and deep curiosity about people and the ways we learn to navigate our lives and relationships. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade as an artist in Nashville and New York City. My background as an artist continues to enrich and shape how I listen and experience my clients and life.
If your story is like mine, then it may only just be beginning. I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and groups in East Nashville. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you.
